Finally!

I wish I could say that the gentle teasing from my family and friends about my very behind blog finally motivated me to get started again, but I actually have to give my bishop the credit. He called several families in the ward on three month missions, and we were called on the family history mission. We were asked to attend the temple every week for three months and also work on our family histories. The first thing that came to my mind was my blog. Yes, that is a non-traditional family history, but that is the reason I started my blog in the first place. I thought it was a perfect way to record the events in my family's lives. Unfortunately, I had good intentions but never made the time. I am hoping that my "mission" will get me going again. It will also help that we are not watching very much television any more, not that I ever really did in the first place....what mom has time? But let me explain. One of the other missions that our bishop asked several families to participate in is to not watch any television for three months. Since Averi can't do very much with our family history mission, she asked if we could incorporate the media mission into our home. Isn't that an amazing thing for a nine year old girl to ask? I am so proud of her. It has really helped us spend more quality time together as a family, and hopefully it will help me find more time to record my family's history.

I was shocked to see that you had posted! It's so fun to see! That's great what Averi wanted to do with the media. Kids are so amazing! We are doing better with it this week than last...

Yay! You posted! Averi is amazing! I can't believe that she would suggest to do something like that when most 9 year old's would be dreading that mission. What a great mom, teaching her children ;)

Wow, I can 100% guarantee that my 10 year old would NOT have suggested a 3 month hiatus from TV. A 3 hour break would be tough!! Kudos Averi -- you're awesome!

It's so fun to have you blogging again, Erica! Love you.

I just told Grandma J yesterday that I hadn't checked your blog for awhile because you hadn't been posting (neither had I for quite awhile)and was so glad to see you had posted again! But, it has been a month so hope to see you again soon! Your amazing "missions" your bishop has suggested and good for Averi! How is it going?
Love you!
